    Strategic Restart Proposal

I'm sorry for the late post, but can I get a quick clarification: Is voting yes on this voting to establish a strategic restart working group or is it to formalize the above document (e.g. pursue government grants/contracts)?

    Strategic Restart Proposal

As an ANO with several US Federal SBIRs (and hopefully a few more in the pipe), I'll join in to say.: -Yes there is a lot of federal money available, not a lot of it is for blockchain. -As @Colin Campbell said, the feds are years from widespread blockchain adoption. -SBIRs take a lot of time...

Unawarded [Colin Campbell-1] FIP 2 - Distributed network restart

Are network stalls related to the Proof of Authority mechanism?

Funded [LUCIAP-2] ChockaBlock: open-sourcing and upgrade

I've got access to the front end as the testnet admin for running load tests. I'll clarify my above statement that I haven't looked at the code but was speaking to the user experience

Unawarded [Colin Campbell-1] FIP 2 - Distributed network restart

This is a top priority for the network but I'd like to see the technical requirements and ideas laid out here. There's not enough now to support this grant. Based on my current understanding this will either be a quick fix and not require any funding or be a major change to the Factom software...

Funded [LUCIAP-2] ChockaBlock: open-sourcing and upgrade

Chockablock is a very important tool to the community and open sourcing it will allow increased and varied load testing which will be a net positive for Factom. I've been using it in my function as testnet admin and the software is solid! Completely support this!

Funded [Exchange Working Group-3] Exchange Working Group Funds

Agreed on your points, I believe a top exchange is a must. Most smaller exchanges are just wash trading inflated volumes so a waste of our effort. A key thing Factom needs, possibly more so than the exchange iteself, is clearing and settlement service. (This hypothetically comes with a big...

Data from April 2020 Load Test

Frederic, thanks, that's a good question for @Paul Bernier - I assume yes but I think temporarily we can use a larger server and see what we get

Data from April 2020 Load Test

Thanks Nolan, we're gonna need a bigger boat. By that I mean we'll need a bigger server to run the Chockagent. TFA has some big servers online currently so I'll reach out to them to see if they are able.

Data from April 2020 Load Test

All, here's some more in depth data from the recent load test. Overall, it was pretty exciting to watch the amount of data and load put through the network. There we some audit servers that fell behind during the test, but overall the network didn't have any problems. This is great data, imo...

    Consensus Networks Q1 2020 Update

Overall: It has been great to see all that the projects throughout the community have accomplished within the last few months, especially given the crazy circumstances throughout the world, and we would like to start by congratulating all involved. Despite continued discussions regarding...

Question for Consensus Networks from Niels Klomp

Hi Niels: 1. The parties we see adopting Factom are those working in regulated industries such as government, healthcare, and law. 2. We do not think that current governance supports production level adoption of mainnet Factom at this time, however, we are still early and those aforementioned...

Amendment Failed Document 107 - Factom Grant Process - v1.2

I don't think there are easy modifications to be made to the grant system as it pertains to overdue grants. I think we'll need to continue discussions here and figure out a simple solution. I think an overall goal of making any changes to the grant system should be to attract outside parties. As...

Voting NO on anchor and Oracle master grants

I think we definitely want to decentralize the oracle and anchor. I actually had no idea it wasn't decentralized (shame shame). In most protocols that require an oracle, each node operator runs an oracle. What's the feasibility of this for Factom? In terms of the anchor, I believe we should...

Factomize has lowered its efficiency to 0%

Sorry, is this a joke or a test? I'm confused, same with @Matt Osborne's thread about testing ANOs by dropping to 10% efficiency? We're going to have problems if we can't operate 'in good faith'. It's not healthy if I have to assume people are trying to trick me.

Amendment Failed Document 107 - Factom Grant Process - v1.2

tl;dr if we can define the criteria for grant acceptance up front, grant failure will be self evident

Amendment Failed Document 107 - Factom Grant Process - v1.2

Thanks @Alex The only question I have on that is that since Grant payments are hard coded into updates, will things be too complicated if some grants get paid up front and some at the end? What if someone asks for money every 30 days or by milestones? Maybe @Tor Paulsen has some insight here...
